League Structure

Original Structure

With a wide range of skill levels among the teams this season, we’ve structured matchups to create as fair and competitive play as possible while ensuring teams face a good variety of opponents. Instead of two strict divisions, teams have been grouped based on their level of play in the 2024/2025 regular season:

  • Purple teams played Open A and will compete against Purple, Pink, and Blue teams.
  • Pink teams played Open B and will compete against Purple, Pink, Blue, and Orange teams.
  • Blue teams played Open B and will compete against Purple, Pink, Orange, and Green teams.
  • Orange teams played Open C1 and will compete against Pink, Blue, Orange, and Green teams.
  • Green teams played Open C2 and will compete against Blue, Orange, and Green teams.

While we’ve done our best to create balanced matchups with the teams that have registered, we know no system is perfect. Some games will be equally matched, some will be challenging, and some may allow for more control. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to a great and fun season!

Matchups and Tiering

Updated Structure

After the first four weeks of play, we noticed some large score discrepancies between teams at certain levels and hope to even out competition levels with a new form of "tiering" for the remainder of the 2025 season. The following two "divisions" have been formed:

  • Division 1: University Ringette, Selects, Alumni, Twisters, and Crew.
  • Division 2: Adrenaline, Rage, Park, Edmonton Ice, Hornets, Hot Flashes, and Heat.

Tiering and divisions have been placed in quotation marks, as seen above, since some crossover games will occur to accommodate teams who still wished to have a larger variety of opponents. As a result, our RAMP Interactive website will not be splitting teams up into strict division tabs.

Also, since there are an uneven amount of teams in each division, most teams will have the following:

  • One week where they play twice, and
  • One week where they do not play at all (i.e., a "bye week").

We apologize to teams that would have preferred to play only once a week. However, all teams will still play at least 13 games, and adjusting the number of weekly games was the only way to make the new divisions work—a change that the majority of Spring Ring teams supported or didn't oppose.

Thank you all for your understanding; we look forward to a fun and competitive remainder of the 2025 season!
